Robert Groeneveld is a Dutch actor and allround performer born and raised in Amersfoort, The Netherlands. His theatrical experiences started when he was 10 years old with plays linked to his primary (Steiner) school. Consequently, on the age of 12, he became part of the Nationaal Jongenskoor (National Boys Choir) where he did collaborations with Jaap van Zweden and Ivan Fischer. In this time period he performed in opera’s and concerts like ‘Otello’ and ‘the Matthew Passion’ at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw in collaboration with the Royal Amsterdam Concertgebouw Orchestra. In the concerts of the National Boys Choir he had several solo performances for big audiences. At his secondary school, the ‘Vathorst College’, he started with an intensive 6-year acting education where he was abel to develop more experience in performing, writing and directing theatre plays. Additional subjects to this education where ‘Dance’ and ‘Music’. After 2 years studying ‘International Business and Languages’ in The Netherlands he decided to quit his studies and move to Italy to gain more life experience. He lived for 5 months in Florence and 6 months in Pisa to gain a higher level of the Italian language. He gained experience with performing as a piano player in bars and restaurants. Since then has been actively part of international communities. This has enabled him to communicate and connect easily with people from different cultures. In 2017 he started his bachelor in ‘Performing Arts’ at Link Campus University, Rome. The bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts is aimed at shaping the profile of the contemporary actor, able to interpret, but also design and take part in projects in the fields of theatre, cinema and TV. In addition, Robert is constantly deepening his acting skills with acting classes and masterclasses at acting school ‘La Scaletta’, based in Rome. Apart from Dutch he is fluent in English and Italian. His physical skills contain horseback riding, fencing and karate.
