Gwen Eckhaus is a renowned Dutch actress and screenwriter, recognized for her versatile roles in film and television. Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, she later moved to the Netherlands, where she established a successful career in the entertainment industry.

Eckhaus gained significant acclaim for her role as **Lieneke** in the 1988 psychological thriller *Spoorloos* (*The Vanishing*), a film that became a critical and commercial success, further cementing her status in Dutch cinema. Following this breakthrough, she continued to deliver compelling performances in various productions.

In 1989, she portrayed **Ina** in *De avonden*, a film adaptation of Gerard Reve’s classic Dutch novel, further showcasing her range as an actress. Her television work includes a memorable role as **Eva Bilthoven** in the popular soap opera *Onderweg naar morgen* in 1996. Eckhaus also made multiple appearances in the long-running crime series *Baantjer*, playing characters **Gerda Sieben** in 1997 and **Eliza Weermeijer** in 1999.
